We arrived at the museum at 11am and went straight in to a workshop which was led by 4 paleontologists. We learnt about different types of fossils and how old they were and where they came from. We got to look at and feel all the different types they had to offer. We used microscopes and magnifying glasses to help us look at them in a lot more detail. They told us lots of fascinating facts about some of the fossils too and why it is important to make a record of them if we find any.
After lunch we had a look at more fossils and artefacts that were there and we were shown what observational drawings are. We looked at some examples from Leonardo DiVinci and Charles Darwin. We then had a go at making our own observational drawings. We left some in the museum which they are putting on display and we took some home too.
