Friday 28th June
We had a fantastic journey to Kingswood which gave Mr Williams a chance to catch up on his sleep! We stopped at Queenswood Park for lunch and a much needed coffee.
When we arrived at Kingswood it was straight to the accommodation, unpack and the children had to make their beds, which was pure comedy gold. It was obvious that some of the children had been practising at home and some had not!
The children had a fantastic afternoon having a tour of the facilities, orienteering, playing football, and finished off with a night walk.
The children, well some of them, were tucked down by 10pm ready for the next days fun filled and exhausting activities.
Sunday 30th June
We’ve had an awesome couple of days with the children really getting into the spirit of team work and demonstrating a have a go attitude to all their activities. The teachers are being kept going by the children’s enthusiasm and energy (truthfully, it’s coffee, copious amounts of coffee! We can’t get enough) They’ve been experiencing caving, archery, aero ball and for the adrenaline junkies there was the giant zip wire! Only the bravest most radical dudes took the leap and we’re buzzing when they got down.
In our downtime, the children have been relaxing by playing football, chilling in the sun and going on an evening run with Mrs Powell who set a very, very, very slow pace! Mo Farah has nothing to worry about.
The food has been very good with lots of choices for the children so no one’s going hungry, especially with the amount of sweets, crisps and biscuits they brought with them! We’ve had pizza, chicken and beef noodles, pasta, soup and jacket potatoes, with a choice of fillings. The best meal of the day has to be the breakfast, who doesn’t love a fry up to start the day? We’ve got a Sunday lunch to look forward to later this evening.
You’ll also be pleased to know that Mr Williams has really caught up on his sleep and has made it to breakfast on time both days, just!
