We will finish our topic with a big teddy bears picnic!

We had some unusual visitors to our class this week when 'Zoolab' came in to visit us! We met Shelbi the snail, a tarantula, a snake and lots more creepy crawly animals! Some of us were even brave enough to touch and hold the animals.
We have had a fun Monster themed week. We really enjoyed at our monster's tea party where we had lots of yummy food and played some party games. We all enjoyed going on a colour monster hunt outside and designing and painting our own colour monsters in class! We also talked about bonfire night as lots of us went to see firework displays. We made edible chocolate sparklers to take home and used sparkly playdough to make our own firework displays!
This week Mummy and Daddy bear had lost all their babies in our Nursery garden and we had to help to find them. To celebrate they asked if we could bring our own teddy bears into school and have a teddy bear's picnic! We had a super time making the sandwiches and decorating the biscuits ready for our picnic.
We have had a fantastic week learning all about the story of the Gingerbread Man! We have learnt the story and acted it out using masks. We have painted the Gingerbread man and gone on a Gingerbread man hunt in our Nursery garden. We used the chalks outdoors to draw the Gingerbread man and used spots to count his buttons. We really enjoyed baking and decorating our very own Gingerbread man to take home and eat!
We have been busy this week continuing with the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We have created bean shakers and enjoyed making loud and quiet sounds with them! We tried beans on toast one day for snack and we've been busy looking after the beans we planted last week!
We have had a great week reading Jack and the Beanstalk! We really enjoyed the story. We have been sorting different types of beans and we've been planting our very own beans to see how they grow. I wonder if they'll grow as tall as Jack's beanstalk?
This week we were lucky enough to be able to try all the fruit from the story of Handa's Surprise! We learnt about how they looked, smelt, felt and tasted. We also sang 'Beth sy' yn y fasged siopa?' to help us learn some of the names for different fruit in Welsh. When we are not too busy working hard with the teachers we are still enjoying exploring inside and outside and making lots of new friends.
We have been very busy this week learning all about different types of fruit. We read the story of 'Handa's Surprise' and used paint to sponge the fruit from the story. We sorted fruit into different colours from the slimy jeli baff using tweezers. We also helped Handa to find all of her missing fruit in our Nursery garden, it was fun going on the fruit hunt!
We have had a super first week exploring our Nursery! There are lots of new things for us to see and play with. We have also enjoyed making some new friends.
