With the winter months getting closer and the days getting shorter, this topic is perfect with its ‘after dark’ theme. Children will develop their knowledge and understating of the world through learning about the moon and stars and how the sky changes at night. We will explore some nocturnal animals such as owls, bats and foxes. The children will share their experiences of nighttime rituals such as favourite bedtime stories, lullabies and nursery rhymes.
We will be learning through a mix of structured activities, guided and independent play in both the indoor and outdoor environments.

They even had a special visit from Father Christmas and his elves. They also had the opportunity to watch our Key Stage 2 Pantomime of Aladdin. We hope that you all have a lovely Christmas break and we look forward to seeing you again in January.

They have noticed that the trees are losing their leaves so they went on a nature hunt to see what they could find!
The Reception children have had another very busy week. They have learnt the letter sounds 'h' and 'r' and have been writing them in the foam and outdoor area. The children have also enjoyed exploring books during the Guided Group Reading sessions where they have been learning to read and write some of their high frequency words. On Friday we had a Pudsey themed day where the children created masks, wrote about Pudsey and made Pudsey snacks. They also dressed in their pyjamas to help raise money for Children in Need. Thank you to everyone who generously donated.
