Summer is Coming!
Believe it or not, there is only one short term left before the children take the next step to Secondary School! I can't think where the time has gone.
Our topic this term is:
Planet Vs Plastic
This topic has a Humanities focus and will we will be looking carefully at how humans; their habits and behaviours, have impacted on the Earth. The children will be researching the effect of plastic pollution; how we can make a positive impact on the planet; writing persuasive letters to major companies to ask them to consider their recycling policies; writing creatively in the form of a Haiku and many other activities. Hopefully we can create some eco-warriors along the way!
Week beginning 17.06.19:
"Open Your Eyes" Week.
This week the children in Year 6 have an exciting opportunity to meet several major companies, including Cardiff Blues, Glamorgan Cricket, Principality Building Society, Wilmott Dixon etc. They will be discussing future career plans, hopes and aspirations with the children and introducing them to the many different areas in the world of work that will be available to them.

Our topic this term is The Blitz - World War II
This project has a history focus and Second World W
This project has a history focus and teaches children about the
Second World War including an understanding of the reasons for
war, the impact on the everyday lives of people including children
and about significant individuals of the period. Children will also
learn about the significance of the Swansea Blitz and the social
and human impact of it. At the heart of this project children write
narrative stories based on historical facts and develop additional
skills in using flashback as a technique for telling stories.

Our topic this term is:
Scream Machine!
This project has a science focus and teaches children about a range of forces including gravity. At the heart of this project children write shape poems on the theme of roller coasters and develop additional skills in writing explanations and recording scientific
investigations.
